Is there any way I can find out if my father Ronnie Gibson got a Mention in Dispatches?

These were usually printed in the London Gazzette. You can search their archive by going to

I did a quick search didn't seem to reveal anything. Any clues why you think he may be Mentioned In Dispatches?

I have a very large file that has many page and lists the majority of RNPS personnel given awards and MID's. However, locating individuals can be problematic as names need to be alphabetised andput into a data base.

I can try and find Ronnie (Ronald?) Gibson if you have further details, dates and particular vessel he served with?

An Aunt said "I'm sure your dad got a mention in dispatches" so please don't go to any great lengths as it might just be nothing. I am uploading a cut from his record if it's any help.
